The Inception of Cooks Crew
Page 2

May 9, 2008.  A day that will forever be known (well, here in Missouri at least) as David Cook day.  I wanted nothing more than to be able to start the day off at the local Fox news station and then work my way around the city to all of the David Cook appearances.  But, that just simply wasn't meant to be.  My husband had to work, we have one car, I was stuck at home.  So I did what millions of other people did that day, I glued myself to the local Fox channel, and their website.

During the morning show interview, they showed David a few suggestions for fan names.  Complete with hand-drawn posters.  Most of them sounded a bit goofy, then they said "Cook's Crew".  I thought it sounded cute.  And.... it's the one David ended up choosing.  A thought ran through my mind briefly "wouldn't it be fun to have an online fansite called Cook's Crew"?  And I actually checked to see if the URL was available.  It was.  Still.... I did nothing.

When my husband got home from work I was telling him about the Fox broadcast and the posters and how David chose the one that said Cook's Crew.  I told him the url was available early that morning (it was then 4:00pm.... surely it was gone already).  He checked again, it was still open.  So we bought the url, and this site was born.

So, are you wondering why we did it?  Simply because we thought it would be fun to support our hometown celebrity with a local, hometown fan site.  We'll try to always get local content on here so people who aren't lucky enough to live in the Blue Springs area can still share in the fun.

One thing we're not trying to do is take anything away from his fans that call themselves Word Nerds.  We believe there's more than enough room for everybody, and a fan's a fan no matter what name they prefer. Word nerds are always welcome here along with any other David Cook fan.

So look around, enjoy our current content, and look for lots of changes in the very near future.

Check back often.

I am a young lover and David Cook suppor
Hi, My name is Caylin. I do not live in Blue Springs Missori.. I live in New Hampshire. I cannot wait until the idols come to Manchester. I am going to see them. This is the first David Cook fansite my mom and I found for EVERYONE. I am only 11 and my mom said this looked like a pretty secure website. As you said in your blog.. "A fan is a fan". I have been working on decorating my closet doors. I wrote with paint DAVID COOK, on them, and I am hanging up his pictures :grin I love David Cook with all my heart.. when they said he won American Idol.. I screamed, and then cryed. I am so happy for him

I can help
I just got a great idea! Lot's of people in my classroom like David Cook. Well, first I have to tell a funny story.

Ok, My friends Natalie and Molly.. and me, are decorating the classroom bulletin board for our teacher. We are in the middle of a huge artist and residence program, so we decorated it with things from the AIR. One of the things we hung up ws a permission slip that was not filled out. It said my child ....... has permission to do so and so. Where the blank was I wrote.. David Cook. Then for parents signiture I wrote Natalie Caylin and Molly. :grin it was very funny, anyway...

I'll tell some of my friends who LOVE David Cook, like me, I'll tell them to check out the website.

Do we know him?
No, we don't know him. We're fans just like you are. We just think he deserves a local fanclub online. A place where people from the Kansas City area can all gather and talk. And a place where fans can come for local news stories that they might not hear nationally. Like when David comes back to the area to visit or perform and there are special pictures and interviews that are only seen here.

Ideas....
Even if you don't live near Kansas City area, everyone can still join and talk right? I had an idea. When lots of people from different area join the site, they could all talk about there local news, (David Cook News). Like if they saw him on TV or heard him on the radio, or saw him on the tour. I would be happy to share what happened when I see the tour in August. Just tell me where and I'll post it later this year!

Love,
Caylin :D

concert review
Hi, i am like the only david cook fan in my 7th grade class... my bff moved away and she was a fan too so its great to have a fanclub! I saw the baltimore show and he was awesome! He first sang Hello with his guitar. He NO DOUBT proved he was the star. Then he sang The Time of My LIfe (my ringtone, ringback, and MP3!) and walked all around the stage, getting the audience to sing with him. Then he was a goof. The stage manager walked out there with his guitar and was wearing the Groucho Marx disguise. David took it off the dude and said "Theyre turning this whole thing into a comedy skit!" He was about to start the song when he said "Darn, my heads too big!" and threw it aside. Hero was his next song. He played the guitar and walked all around the stage. Deafening screams continuesly came from me! After that, he sang I Don`t Wanna Miss A Thing. Then he ran off stage and everyone was :? "Where`d he go?" "What happened?" Then there was smoke and he rose out of the stage and sang Billie Jean. This song was the last song in the set and it was totally AWESOME. It gave you chills and when he sang the last note, i couldnt describe it in any other word but wow. David cook is awesome, and I think that he will have alot of success for many years to come!
