 It's time to start releasing some details regarding our first get together. Official start time for our day in the park is 10am. Unless you are volunteering to help out with the days activities we ask you to not gather around the shelter till then. If you would like to assist us that day then you will need to contact Chris through email or via Private Message on the forums. Please note that everything is subject to change regarding the event, especially if it rains that day. Unless it is a total downpour we will still be out at the park and you are still welcome to come, just wear a rain poncho! Official location for our Cookies Against Cancer Fundraiser is Rotary Park at Railroad Lake, most commonly known as Railroad park. If you aren't familiar with the Blue Springs area then you may want to map out directions prior to the event. Here is the parks address: Rotary Park at Railroad Lake600 NW Vesper Our Fundraiser will directly benefit the American Cancer Society, and all proceeds collected by Cook's Crew that day will be directly applied to our ACS Mosaic page following the event. We will have American Cancer Society representatives on hand that day to distribute pamphlets and educational information regarding cancer awareness and you are welcome to speak with them regarding any questions you might have. We will have plenty of family friendly activities for everyone to enjoy and you are all welcome to bring along your children and pets. Please note that all pets are required to be on a leash and we ask that you are prepared to clean up after them if you bring them along. There will be some entertainment during the day were we may ask you to stay towards the back the crowd so that your pet doesn't interfere with their performance.

We have been working with the local community to provide everyone who attends the chance to win various prizes and gift baskets. Thus far, the following companies have donated towards our event:
Flyers promoting the fundraiser will soon be distributed through some of the above sponsors and throughout the surrounding communities. We will also be contacting local media so you may even seen radio, tv, and newspaper reporters on hand that day. Please be aware that this is a family friendly fundraiser so we ask that you do not bring any alcohol to the event. Police will be patrolling throughout the day and you will be asked to leave if you bring in any alcoholic beverages. In keeping with the theme of the day "Cookies Against Cancer" we welcome all of you attending to bring along some homemade cookies. We will have a table set up for everyone to sample cookies from and if you would like to share your recipe then please bring along a few printed out sheets of the recipe. We'd love to do a sort of recipe exchange that day in addition to raising money for cancer awareness. Lastly, we are working very hard to find a sponsor to provide lunch to everyone that day. Please note we will have further details on this very soon but is is our goal to have a sponsor on hand to provide bbq or some other kind of food and beverage that day. Stay tuned for further updates and additions to plans for the day and we sincerely hope to see you out for the Cookies Against Cancer fundraiser!
