Forget about getting tickets to American Idol David Cook’s national concert tour appearance in Kansas City April 22.

Tickets went on sale at 10 a.m. Monday and all 1,300 seats in the Pavilion show room at Ameristar Kansas City Casino and Hotel sold out in six minutes.

Casino regulars with Ameristar player club cards were given a shot at discounted ducats to the event, but were left standing in line at the casino box office when sales shut down within minutes of opening.

“We feel terrible,” said casino spokeswoman Roxann Kinkade. “We’ve very, very sorry. We wish everyone could have gotten to see him.”

Tickets also were available on tickets.com. Kinkade said the casino had no way of knowing if scalpers’ computer robots were responsible for any portion of the lightning-fast sell out.

Online tickets were priced between $55 and $80, and Kinkade said all buyers were limited to six tickets per order.

The Blue Springs, Mo., native’s “Declaration Tour – 2009” will take him to 40 cities, kicking off in Tallahassee, Fla., Feb. 13 and wrapping up in Tulsa, Okla., April 25.

“There was so much media attention,” said Kinkade of the singer’s lone Kansas City area tour appearance. “This is his hometown. We knew it was going to be bad.”
