Now I know sometimes the person can pick their own song, but I really wish those picking for the person could sometimes sit down and actually pay attention to what they are picking. I can remember a couple of times I just sat there with a

look on my face like "What in the world". Am I the only one?

Yeah I know what you mean. Sometimes it seems they randomly picked the worst song out there. And well that just makes the person singing it look bad.

Youre not the only one. I mean, David singing Rihanna? He can make it work, but its just not him. Its kinda cruel, taking a rocker and giving him a hip-hop song sung by a girl. Its just... not right.

While I agree the results are sometimes cringe-worthy, I think they have this "rule" in place to test the abilities and the range of the performer. How boring would it be if everything David or Kelly or Carrie sang had the same vibe?
