David Cook Hard At Work On New Album

Season seven "American Idol" winner David Cook is already hard at work on his sophomore album, which he hopes to release by the middle of this year. Cook tells "Entertainment Weekly" in a video interview that he devoted some time on his tour last year to stockpile ideas for this record. Cook says, quote, "I'm trying to incorporate more piano on this record." He says he's also trying to get into what he calls, "more riff-based stuff" rather than the "wall of sound" that was heard on his last record.
Cook has been tweeting to fans about his creative process. On February 2nd, he wrote, "In a meeting, listening over all the songs written so far. Great to hear them all in succession. Can't wait to get this record to u guys." Soon after that, he tweeted, quote, "lol, to be clear...we're listening to demos. We haven't hit the studio yet." Cook sent out a quick video blog that same day that gave a sneak peek of the song he's working on. The vlog can be seen on DavidCookOfficial.com.

Ooh I can't for for his new album!!! I hope when he tours again he'll stop in Manchester!

I am completely stoked about David's new CD!! He has such a talent for writing songs and I hope his signature style shines thru on this new album! Not that I didn't love his first album, cuz I really did, but I would love to hear him totally rock on this new one!!!
